Suprema, a global leader in access control, biometrics and time & attendance solutions, announced that it has been chosen as the top brand for access control management software and mobile access solution, in a survey of over 500 respondents in security industry participants and end users.
The survey, conducted by A&S magazine, a renowned industry media, asked systems integrators, distributors, consultants and end-users in a variety of verticals to choose the top brands in the categories of access control management software, mobile access solutions, and wireless locks. Suprema was selected number one in access control management software and mobile access solutions categories.
Respondents cited integration capability and security measures like GDPR and cybersecurity compliance as main considerations for access control management software. Suprema’s BioStar 2 satisfies integration and security needs with SDK and web API support as well as ISO certifications for data protection and management.
When choosing the best brand for mobile access solution, respondents said they looked at performance, ease of use and compatibility with a variety of phone models and transmission technologies. Suprema Mobile Access’ high performance with both NFC and BLE technologies, fast authentication speed of less than a second explains its appeal.

HID has launched the Omnikey Secure Element that has been designed to set a new simplicity standard for reader manufacturers and others integrating RFID-based security technology into connected solutions. HID Global’s Omnikey Secure Element will succeed the Iclass SE Processor and is the first step toward consolidating and optimizing the company’s desktop reader and reader module offering to create a smarter, unified embedded and desktop product portfolio. Omnikey Secure Element provides wider integration capabilities than the Iclass SE Processor while retaining compatibility with it at an API level for a straightforward migration. It adds support for credential technologies including mobile IDs and employee badges in Apple Wallet, while enabling current and emerging secure access identification and authentication applications ranging from locker management to electric vehicle charging.
For HID the single-chip Omnikey Secure Element represents a safe key for leveraging all the advantages of Seos credential technology, such as multi-application converged access on mobile phones. It also supports other technologies from HID Global, such as Iclass, and can be used for other card protocols such as Mifare Desfire. It is designed to deliver seamless security extensions for reader devices across many connected business applications such as secure print and time and attendance that span multiple “smart” offices, universities or other healthcare or government facilities.

The right key for every requirement
The “Professional” is the new eCLIQ key, which many users of the electronic locking system solution are already familiar with as a standard eCLIQ key. This is now being replaced by it. In contrast to its predecessor, it impresses with a significantly longer battery life of ten years or around 100,000 locking operations. It can also be equipped with an RFID chip on which different information can be stored. The new "Professional" also impresses with its high-quality appearance, even more robust workmanship and an optical user display in the form of a large LED window. It is also able to support locking events with audible signals.
Within the new eCLIQ key concept, the “Connect” is the key equipped with additional Bluetooth capability. It is therefore ideal for decentralised organisation – but also for private end customers. The Bluetooth function is activated via a button on the key. By using the CLIQ® Connect app, the user can then use time- or location-limited access authorisations from anywhere, whether on the move or at home, such as for external employees. The app reduces the time required to manage access authorisations. Like the “Professional”, the “Connect” has a larger LED window and an additional blue LED for even more comprehensible readability of the user information. The new Connect key also has an optimised, longer battery life of around two years or 20,000 locking operations
Compatible with more than 60 locking cylinders
"With our new generation of keys, we now have the right key for every application requirement. In addition, every key combination is possible with each other and with the more than 60 available eCLIQ locking cylinders," explains Michael Buchholz, Head of Sales Product Groups at ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH.
